So you're saying when you have a very highly-compressed H.264-type piece of video, it winds up looking ugly in Resolve. This only seems to be an issue with video that was either recorded through a webcam or through Zoom, though again, the video file plays without any artifacts when not in Resolve. I would best describe them as having a sort of datamoshing type look to them (large pixelated boxes), and they usually appear around movement of somebody's head or face, usually not very big but definitely noticeable. When I play the video outside of Resolve, there are no artifacts, but once I import it and bring it to the timeline, the artifacts appear. System specs: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, ASUS ROG Strix z270e MB, i7 7700K, MSI Geforce 1060 6gb, 16g of ram, 240 mb boot drive, WD Black 2TB 7200 HDD, Davinci Resolve 16.2.0.055 I had this problem on some 15 release of Resolve as well, and upgraded to the latest version at the time to see if the issue would go away, which it hasn't. I would post an example, but I don't want to put my coworkers' faces out there. Please let me know if any more information from me would be helpful. Is there some kind of setting that could be causing this? I'm not very knowledgeable on the more technical aspects like decoding and whatnot, so I'm not sure where to look. This is a last resort workaround as I'm not too keen on working off of a lower resolution/quality file. I have Lightworks, and importing the file in there causes no artifacts, and I'm able to render that out (at a lower resolution/quality as I don't have the paid version), and when I import that file into Resolve, there are no issues.
